Be tough

Have you done a parent conference on this? I'd lay it out that the child wil fail if he cannot do work independently.

Try moving the student into the hall and see if the work gets done. Right...

We don't have it for ELL but we do for EC. Basiclly for those who are almost on grade level the block is 90 mins. long and 45 mins. of those are done with the 2nd teacher pushing in to help...

I still teach it but just so they know it. We learn all the letters and practice words, sentences, etc. but I don't make it madatory that they write in it after we learn it.
