Lots of frustration about COVID

But here is my petty vent: my water company informed me I probably have a small leak. It could be my dripping shower or running toilet or the water heater leaking. My spouse and I decide to get the...

tired of it

"Make it work"
"Be flexible"
"Be creative"
"Put the students first"

These are all the things we hear when they don't know how to do something and are going to make the teachers figure it out or...

Pretty quiet too

I am definitely more of an introvert than an extrovert. I think that doesn't matter as much as your social skills. It's hard to be a lonely island as a teacher so you need to be able to work with...

Standards based report cards

So this year we just started standards based report cards. I actually love them, but now that we are out of school until at least April 30th and doing distance learning, I am frustrated that we are...

2nd grade

Currently teaching this in 2nd grade- it's a struggle every year! They don't ever see analog clocks so they have no background knowledge. Then they never use it so they forget it by the next grade!

Atlanta area

The job he is looking at is in Atlanta, so I guess we'd live close to there. I looked at a school district in Alabama but they don't publish salary schedules and said that there was no guarantee of a...

Georgia Incentives?

Nothing has gone through yet, but my husband has been looking at some jobs in Georgia. Do any of the districts there pay an annual stipend for National Boards? I think the state does if you certified...
