Class lists/case loads

School starts two weeks from today. I felt pretty good that I could fill out most of my desk name tags for my students.

We get our class list a week from today.

Usually it was a mad scramble to...

Aide

If they truly can’t find a 1:1 aide they need to pull an aide from another classroom.

They did this last year for my students who had 1:1.

I should qualify that most of our building’s aides are...

cms super

Wow.

He is not even qualified to be a building principal or, heck, a guidance counselor in my district.

Does the district still have to pay the remainder of the previous super's contract?

Buried the lede

He does not have any advanced degrees in education. :0

The salary did not seem out of line to me, especially since the previous superintendent was making more.

My state makes everyone jump...

Derry Girls

I watched season 2 last night.

So good. I went to high school during the early 90s. The fashion and music really took me back.

Love Sister Michael.

At my middle school the language arts teachers and librarian do black out poetry with old books, maybe someone could use them for that?

I worked at a used book store at one point and interior...

Handmaids Tale (spoilers)

So, stuff happened again this week.

This show reminds me of Mad Men.

Nothing seems to happen for the first 10 episodes of the season and then boom - it gets hard to keep up with what is going...

I used to not like these, but I am coming around as there are classy ways to do it. Also, like pp sometimes I am so excited for the couple I want to party!

A very outgoing girl I know kept it low...

I have never used a teacher desk like a teacher desk. My classroom para runs a center out of a teacher desk.

I use the small drawers like PP and any files or data sheets I need to easily get to...

Evening primrose oil

I take 1300 mg of it.

It is about $14 a bottle for 120 capsules on Amazon.

I should also qualify that I was on birth control pills and now an IUD with hormones.

New house

That is such great news.

Even though the timing is not the greatest, the fact that is clean and needs no renovation should make it go smoother.

Do you have to get out of your lease right away...

That parent

I also recommend documenting - try to keep interactions to email, email a recap of any in-person conversations and try to never meet with the parent alone. Also try to never be alone with the student...

Our American Voice

I do not have any personal experience with this program.

A teacher I know incorporated it into 5th grade social studies, but it might also stand alone for 9 week in middle school.

OMG

Has anyone watched the latest episode?

Stuff actually happened.

And, yes, I watch my shows first thing in the morning.

I go to bed early, even in the summer.

That is very upsetting.

Like PP, I had ovarian cysts in the past. I was only aware of them because I was going through fertility treatments and had a lot of pelvic ultrasounds.

I had no idea...
