I don't have the pictures but I had the children create butterflies, ladybugs, caterpillars, beetles, etc... and then we made huge leaves out of bulletin board paper and using brown paper we created...

I bring in my ipod and ihome and listen quietly to music rather than interact. It helps by keeping my mood uplifted and it makes it easier to ignore the "happenings" outside.
