We do some bribing...if you don't the kids will finish in like 15 minutes! We offer ROARs (that they turn in for a small prize) if they increase their RIT. They don't have to make theirs but they do...

Thanks, the answer 1 and 2 are just two possible answers. Then they color the answer that they choose, then it is really easy to check if they got the right answer if they colored it the correct...

What to do with a student that earns over 1,000 AR Points in 1 year?

So I have a fifth grader who I challenged at the beginning of the year to reach 1,000 AR points...and well she has over 900 as of this last week. She LOVES reading! I also do the 40 book challenge...

I teach fifth

Fifth graders have a blast doing this but struggle pretty good at it. It is great to see their minds working. I would suggest grades 3-5, unless you modify the activity.
