Accelerated Reader

I know there are pros and cons to AR. However, my school is implementing it in December. My students are 1st and 2nd graders. Ten classes per grade level.

I know teachers who use AR as part of a student's grade. I wouldn't. I think incentives work better. Lunch with a teacher, wall of fame, photo in the paper. The top 4 readers in our school last year...

I got a lot of great ideas from the PT boards. I am a newbie. LMS for K-2 after 14 years in 4th grade. Best of luck. We will all learn together.
