I have been impressed with Story Jumper. It is not the exact same as storybird but it lets students create their own books and has the option to get a print version for extra $$.

Ideas

I do the traditional ways (Scoot, tape around room), but I also try to give them more motivation by doing an activity I call "Cups".

I put the cards around the room and a cup next to each card....

Replace the blades

I had mine for two years and had to replace the blades. If you think about it, thousands of pencils have been sharpened throughout those two years so I guess it makes sense that they would get dull....
