Pillow cases for storage
I have seen people use pillow cases to make the storage pockets. Fold over the opening of the pillow case and then sew down each side. I don't know how strong they would be.

cut first then laminate
If you cut first and laminate, when you cut you can leave a border of lamination around the item and it last longer.

DVD burner to make own movies
You can use the DVD burner to put your own home movies on, of course after you edit it. Also presentations, power points, etc. can be burned onto DVD's to share.
