No shame-

I have been and am now in that exact place with a student. I have fought tooth and nail to help that child, but there comes a point when all you can do is emotionally disengage. Keep doing what you...

Assume you've tried ignoring

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this in addition to the pandemic.

If you can't get away from it any other way, create an evidence trail. If she does this by email, save every one and move them...

Our hybrid model looks different.

Half the class from 8:15- 11:00 AM, 13 students; the other half noon to 2:40 PM, 15 students. The size of the cohorts depends on the grade level. There are 13-16...

Can only make them so fast

letsgomets- You make a good point. Not only are the orders and distribution an issue, I wonder how fast they can actually make them.

It sounds like she's not doing a very good job.

I wonder if she resents you because you aren't a new teacher that she can "mold."

not in love

We got one, but we've had a bunch of problems. It's supposed to be wifi, but it doesn't connect because it's still only 2.4 GHz. (Didn't know until we got it.) It also doesn't do the regular pattern...

Focused on practice apps-"homework"

We've been hybrid for a while. We post an Independent Assignment Schedule weekly. I send it to students and their parents.

For us, it's every day. Each teacher's form looks a little different,...

Daily math reviews

This comes up with my daily review product. There are different tasks that are lists in some way- list of factors, multiples up to, number patterns, circle primes or composites.

It gets crazy if...

Used to be Flash!

I wonder if they were switching over to html5? I know I used to have to use Puffin for my students to access them on iPads.

We have this Monday and next-

Our district takes off two days in February, one for each President's Day.

I can see the parent asking, but, for goodness sake, do as OPs suggested and look it up.

TAOEP- You're right.

I have Kaiser, and it's very difficult to get any information on someone new. I have a recommendation from a friend, but that doc's not taking new patients.

It's one of those things that I find...

New doc- old one retired. Needed an up of medication. She looked at the labs and blithely said, "You're fine." This was AFTER I had gone through the whole saga of how I had gotten on the meds in the...

Tool Box or Lattice

I use MathReps (EduProtocols). One of the features is a Tool Box. I find that many students get bogged down when trying to estimate. (How many times does 12 go into 56?)

In the Tool Box, you write...

Uncle Kracker song

Part of the lyrics- "cooler than the flip side of my pillow"

The saying wasn't really on my radar until I heard the song. I guess it's a "thing."

Review tools

After you play a class game in Quizizz, you can review all the questions with class totals showing, not individual students. (You can see individuals, too.)

My kids also really like team games....
