I cut spiral notebooks using my paper cutter. I just flip a section at a time. Then use a scissors to cut closer to the wire. Then a scissors snips the wire & I bend it in. It's easy.

What I usually do is brainstorm a list of words that are associated with my theme. Then I start making them into sayings or titles for my theme.

Ex: Cat, dog, turtle, meow, woof, fur, paw, vet,...

I read books that go with my classroom theme but others I must read are Splat the Cat & Recess Queen. Check Barnes & Noble's website for their story time online books. My kids love watching those!!
