I also don't give extrinsic rewards. Kids should connect doing the right thing with the good feelings it brings. I always try to point that out to them.

My dog

My dog who has always been completely dependable went through a phase where he seemed to pee on the carpet every chance he got. Then he mysteriously stopped. It was weird. Lasted about 3 weeks.
