You are luckier than we are in one respect. We have ALWAYS started with 3 teacher days prior to two student days to go over back to school process prior to jumping in. Not this year. Teacher days...

It would not

be true of every room and situation. For example, the kids on the ends or sides would not need a true 36 sq ft as there is no reason for clearance in the directions where there are no other...

For me

I think that Burnout is an umbrella term and demoralization is just one of the categories underneath.

Demoralization is one of the things that can lead to burnout. But, on the other hand, LOTS...

Thank you for sharing.

I am now part of several groups on FB set up for Special Education teachers. I just trust PT more.

I am dreading it either way...

We haven't received any word on what our plan actually contains. Last official word was that we were intending to go back in person with precautions in place.

But, since then, our county is...

Proof will be hard to come by...

I am not sure that anyone will tell you outright that is the real reason you might be passed over.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that this is the case. Some states, where a Masters is required...

Not a fan of using a Fan itself!

What type of fan are you referring to?

If you are using it for COVID, a regular standing or box fan is illogical due to the fan blowing everyone's germs around.

They already say a toilet...

LOL. I'd call it more Fear of the KNOWN.

That describes my class as well. They will wear no masks or fight compliance all day. I figure they will be exempted due to disability.

I also have two in Depends that also pick below the...

In our district,

we closed in March like everyone else. We reopened in June for an online summer school for some HSers.

About 6/15, the Statewide restrictions lifted more so we had a modified Prom and a modified...

I sure don't claim to know about you guys

or your present situation. I do know that my adult DD was overpaid in March of 2019. She was a waitress in a midsized restaurant and applied for unemployment when she was laid off for the winter. ...

I agree with Haley as well

Her gut feeling is mine as well.

In MO, the authorities offered the recommendations/suggestions with the caveat that local districts have the authority to implement what works best in their area. ...

Are you on a Group plan or family plan?

When DH and I went in last, they offered insurance to us just like you--not usual.

We are on a family plan with 5 phones and a tablet. We had DD's iPhone X on insurance and they mentioned that...

Don't get too discouraged yet.

Most schools are just now getting to the deadline for teaching contract renewals in a regular school year. Resignations and transfer can still occur. This can create openings as those teachers also...

I know that we too often

look at the diagnosis first-but that is only a label for eligibility. For instruction, we have to look at her needs. So, to start, don't focus on the TBI. Look for instructional strategies for...

I think Dr. G is on the right track.

Build your relationships-be it students, parents or staff- and some of that becomes automatic. I also think "Essentials" vary by person. Mental health is a diverse area and, since it involves...

I too have a combination of very low and low(ish) students needing lots of mods and/or accommodations. Most of my students are in very few true gen ed classes at the high school level--mainly art,...

We tended to go to the lake that day so this is way too early for us.

It was unofficially official. Everyone knew in advance but...
