In reality

It wouldn't matter when I called this little girl. She has very poorly developed social skills. The other kids will only tolerate her so far, but she keeps pushing. I worry about her as she continues...

Why?!?

I know this post probably belongs more on the VENT board, but kindergarten teachers will really be able to relate.

Why do young children care so much about line order? I know that kid who always...

Loveslabs

I don't know anyone with essential oils, but I'm willing to give them a try. Purification sounds like it would be useful for many things.

Thanks

Thank you

everyone for your answers. I still have a week of school. I will probably start with the baking soda tomorrow because I already have it. I'll see if it starts getting rid of some of the stink, then...

Stinky cabinet

I have a cabinet in my room that smells awful (like old wood) inside. I have been trying to think of things I might put in it over the summer to neutralize the odor. Does anyone have any ideas?

Gotta love district requirements

I use the unit assessments for assessing comprehension. The first five questions are comprehension questions. The rest is solely for the district. I use the BPST to assess reading foundational skills...

It depends

What are you trying to assess? We were required to give the unit assessments. I also gave a version of the Basic Phonics Skill Test (BPST) 4 times over the course of the year.

ZipLine Had a Good Suggestion

Ask the complainers what specifically they see as a problem so you can address it with the class. I require my students to support their opinions. Adults should be able to do the same. That being...

Only 30

I only have 30, but would love to give my students and authentic purpose for writing. They are English language learners and could use the experience of reading and responding. Would that work for...

Thanks for the responses

We used to have classes of 20 in the primary grades, but state budget cuts resulted in districts raising the limit. I talked to one of the 4th grade teachers the other day who commented that she...

Class size

I was wondering how many students you have. We run 30 per class and are having a lot of trouble getting them to benchmark in reading. How was reading taught before class size reduction? If you have...

Thanks GreyhoundGirl

As it turns out the answer did come today, and it was negative. It is good to know that is not always the case, however. Maybe I can be more relaxed next time. At least I will try. :)

How long have you had to wait?

How long have you waited after the interview to be offered the position? I interviewed Saturday and still haven't heard. I'm losing hope. They said I would know by the end of the week, but it seems...

Thank You

I ended up writing my own. In reality I changed the wording of the one in the book I'm using, but if it doesn't work Pinterest could be a good resource.
