I have a hydroflask for my tea.

Keltikmom is right. Elmer's glue is water soluble. I would soak the sweater and work out the glue. It may take a while.

For all my towels - kitchen and bathroom alike - I Use no fabric softeners at all, whether dryer sheets or in the washer. Also add vinegar to the wash cycle.
