I have used a mixture of equal parts rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle and sprayed my child's shoes. The alcohol kills the bacteria that is causing the STINK.

I take a small spray bottle and mix half water and half rubbing alcohol. I spray them and let them dry. It kills the bacteria that is causing the smell. Works well on the kids sandals
