a lot to work with. Do talk to your supervisor.

With those two degrees and a willingness--an actual preference--to take on EBD, you are worth your weight in gold.

But, I wouldn't rush...

Nope--wouldn't fly here

In our district, we returned to school F2F on time in August. We have a lot of structures in place in order to limit exposure and such.

One effort was to put the MS/HS kids in cohorts. At first,...

Hello again!

It is not just what you say but the thought behind it--it's about changing your thinking as well as theirs.

For the students that are hard to "love," you may have to watch really, really closely...

No raise here

even though we are continuously short-staffed. It has been the same sad low rate since 2000 or so-around $65/day for a full day and $35 for a half...

But, we did get notice:

1) the...

Google Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset is a relatively new term (last several years) that repackages old "best practices" from the beginning of time.

But, being the newest way to say all this, there are lots of really...

Wrong - wrong - wrong....

Not only is the letter contradictory and poorly written, it is just wrong. The over all message is wrong.

We are a small, rural district in one of those places where the numbers were near zero. We...

Mrs. Perkins

She has the Dolch sight words in most configurations.

She has ppts (and they transfer into Google Slides) with and without sound. She has the printable flashcards,...

Yep, I'd leave it to the families to decide

The in ear earphones are easier to store but also easier to lose...

The over the ear headphones are harder to store and harder to lose... (but easier to label with names, etc.)

Both break...

Yes, I think you are correct--

as the shields are to be an addition to, not a replacement of, the standard mask. It is probably better than nothing but they are still not in compliance with the mask rule.

I thought the shield...

Nope--Would not pay it.

I agree that it is outrageous to think they are suddenly acceptable since we paid to wear them--either they are or they aren't... Donating to a cause does not change that.

Most of the work pants...

That would not fly here, even with Covid...

I am not sure if it is a State thing, Federal, Title I or what, but I am requires to sign a paper each year stating that 100% of my instructional time was/is spent with SpEd students only.

Some...

Yes and no

They may not get the same experience with in-person Classroom management but they will get to experience seeing virtual classrooms and students "managed" by experienced teachers.

This will...

We are here in the Midwest

You are luckier than we are in one respect. We have ALWAYS started with 3 teacher days prior to two student days to go over back to school process prior to jumping in. Not this year. Teacher days...

It would not

be true of every room and situation. For example, the kids on the ends or sides would not need a true 36 sq ft as there is no reason for clearance in the directions where there are no other...

For me

I think that Burnout is an umbrella term and demoralization is just one of the categories underneath.

Demoralization is one of the things that can lead to burnout. But, on the other hand, LOTS...

I am dreading it either way...

We haven't received any word on what our plan actually contains. Last official word was that we were intending to go back in person with precautions in place.

But, since then, our county is...

I am not sure that anyone will tell you outright that is the real reason you might be passed over.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that this is the case. Some states, where a Masters is required...

What type of fan are you referring to?

If you are using it for COVID, a regular standing or box fan is illogical due to the fan blowing everyone's germs around.

They already say a toilet...
