Teams?

Bless you-that's a HUGE number of third graders! Right now, it sounds as though it's "all of them" vs. "you"...you can't win with those odds. Can't say that I've had a class that big, but I've had...

Reading Street for Third

Hi
We are switching to Reading Street this year. After a whirlwind "training" session, we hit the ground come September. Any advice from RS users? We are not using the writing piece, but everything...

I have a group this year that is already "experimenting" with cursive. If I don't teach it, they're going to develop their own corrupted version of cursive! We've used Loops and Groups in past...

Our OT

Our OT filled some balloons with corn starch and knotted them (no air, just the corn starch). Works pretty well!

My DD just got married this summer. We gave her a budget (you already have one and believe me, that's more than half the battle!), and she used a website called theknot. You can type in where you...

We use The Great Poetry Race (search the site for more info). We've collected quite a nice collection of poems to read for fluency. The kids like it, and it's a nice incentive to get them reading!

They're old enough not to wet their pants or throw up in my shoes (that would have been my one glorious year teaching K); they still "believe" in Santa and the Easter Bunny, and they don't reek of B....

I get about 17 minutes for lunch; I figure they can eat a snack in ten minutes. If I left it up to them, it would be an "all day buffet"!
