My student...

The one who passed. I'm a specialist so I only saw him twice a week. And I don't know if I spent all that much time thinking about him before he passed. Now I think about him and look at his old...

Thanks everyone

I believe people should take them when they need them but what makes it very stressful is the lack of subs in our district. Fortunately someone did take the job.

Students' wake today

One of the saddest things I've ever experienced. His big brother who I used to teach was there and said it was nice of me to come.

Not so much a vent as it is just a sad story. I think I'm...

I empathize with that feeling as you know. I wish I had great advice for you. Just know that anytime you feel like venting I'm here.

My coworker lacks empathy sometimes

Nevermind. I don't think I'm ready for feedback on this topic yet.

Something I've noticed

people in general are not good about respecting privacy. I know that being informed can put people's minds more at ease, but generally speaking if a teacher is out for a while and hasn't made any...

Student behavior this week

I can understand excitement over Halloween, but I've been seeing a lot of disrespectful behavior this week. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Not sure this is a vent but here goes

There are definitely two types of teachers. Okay there are many types but here are two types

1) the ones who adopt the philosophy that if it doesn't get done at work then it will get done tomorrow...

I understand your frustration. Even for little kids, there is some level of personal responsibility.

Vague posts

Looking for support but not ready to share the details because I don't know if it's going to make it too obvious if the wrong person sees it. or maybe I just don't want a whole lot of advice right...

Got some bad news

I'm not saying a whole lot I'm not in any trouble or anything I just don't want to make it too obvious by sharing details on here. I just know I didn't need things to be harder this year.

Ridiculous

I agree with a previous poster that everyone has a lunch break and she should call you during that time especially if she requested this meeting. I can't believe she would even think to request a...

Lice

I'm no doctor but this article has made me very concerned. Shall we also allow our students to be exposed to stomach flu so as to not inconvenience families or embarrass them?

What's so frustrating

is that I'm not at all bad at teaching like if you watched me teach I don't think you'd be able to tell that I'm dealing with all this stuff. But interview after interview, networking, taking classes...

Eventually leaving

I posted about this many times I just got to thinking about it again-possibly taking a different job in June.

Vent as much as you need

If a work situation is bad, there's bound to be more than one vent worthy day. Sometimes even if I check in with a friend or family member on a regular basis about very similar problems just hearing...

I'm over the passive aggressive behavior

A colleague got snarky with me after I was just told I don't get to teach in the classroom I usually teach in because of testing. I was told I would have it and then last minute told "nevermind."

School psychologist?

I think you could justify getting them involved, or school social worker. Or, is there an adult in the building who this parent has a rapport with and will listen to?
