I also just logged on to check in.

I didn't go back to subbing this year, as I'm homeschooling kindergarten for my honorary niece and nephew.

It's been fun to do the planning that I missed out...

Senses

That is a long time!

I love the scavenger hunt idea! Or maybe even a "daily sense report" if they need handwriting practice as well. (On Monday, I saw ____. On Tuesday, I heard ____. ...)

Non-Digital Choice Board

Find something in your house that starts with each letter of the alphabet (or, if that's longer than you wanted, each letter in your name).

Draw a map of your bedroom.

private tutoring

I'll likely be watching my little niece and nephew for a bit longer, but I think there's going to be a lot of things like this popping up for anyone who is looking!

Great post!

I'm so glad I have have the option of just not going back. (I was subbing before all this.)

- when really necessary, I like the idea of a few light exercises first, but I'd try to minimize the...

It can work

It definitely has potential to be a good thing. They're not dumped right into switching for everything, but they get two teachers, so if they "click" better with one than the other, they get that...

Not at the moment

I don't plan to go back right now, as my husband is in a higher medical risk category. Thankfully, he works from home, but I can't justify the wide exposure level of subbing when we don't really...

"The Trading Game" is a good one, though I don't think I've tried it before 2nd:

You have the kids roll dice/spin a spinner/draw cards (whatever you have works fine) and they get a certain number...

Getting out in fresh air and sunshine is important, and this is a safe way to be "social" right now. Even the decorating...

I would think dividing the time slots up by last name would help. Like A-E, return your books on Monday or Tuesday, F-J on Wednesday or Thursday, and so on. (That would also mean families with kids...

I would like to see teachers and families both have a choice. Each district would survey both groups, and if the stars aligned, there would be enough teachers who preferred in person to match with...
