I think in your case I'd send their kid downstairs and tell yours to go to bed so they get the hint....

Oh bummer! But you're right about the foundation - I'm willing to tackle a lot of stuff (on our own or with professionals) but wouldn't touch foundation issues with a 10 foot pole.
