I don't know if this will work, but I once invited 3 students to lunch just to get through to one of the students. It worked a little... I just let the girls chit-chat and I joined in. I didn't try...

I think the parents (and students) would be more likely to read it if you quoted students. Maybe you could make it 2 sided and double space it. If the format worked for you I wouln't Change it too...
