I lived in Argentina in the late 60' father worked for Coca-Cola Export Corp. at the time. There was a large population of Americans living there at the time. Every night around 9:00 a jingle...

The mailers in my mailbox are astronomical this year. Most of them are from Susan Collins and Sara Gideon, both running for a senate seat. Sometimes I get two of the exact same thing addressed to me,...

hard candy

Yes, I do.

That's me. I've lost every single time except once when I was monitoring one of those state tests and had to walk around the room constantly, not allowed to sit, and just had to...

blood type

My aunt, who died at the age of 97, was an avid follower of some kind of diet based on her blood type. Seemed to work for her. She also exercised on a stationary bike every day and ate a lot of...

health issues

My health is improving. Lung function is getting better and I am able to walk further distances. (I've been working on building up stamina.) I think being up here in Maine and away from the humid...

length of time to vote

When I lived in Georgia, we started off voting at a very tiny little ancient "courthouse" for our rural district. One room, heated with a wood burning stove, and the polling workers were all people...

Amazing Race Wednesday

Just a reminder, Amazing Race is on tonight. It will be nice to get out of my head for a trip around the world...or wherever they go. Maybe just US? Covid has got to impact the race.

* a long drive exploring a new place or an old haunt. There's just so much to see, places nearby that I haven't been to.

Beach roses

Also, we went down to Schoodic Point last weekend and I worked on my close-up shots. These are Rosa Rugosa, or beach roses. The bushes are about waist high usually and are found all along the coastal...

I bought this iron scrollwork many, many years ago. It seems to have found a new home up here in Maine on the (ugly) fence separating the driveway and the back yard. I like the way it looks with the...

Gel pens! The one thing that can unite all teachers with enthusiasm and excitement. I do love my gel pens and I still buy them even though I'm retired.

It's a shame to lose such a beautiful old yet healthy tree. Perhaps only the one lowest branch could be cut off? That would cut back on the amount of acorns that fall. Can the cars be pulled forward...

drinking before bed

Buy bottles only. I sometimes sneak a swallow of Coke right before final teeth cleaning and bed. Never keeps me up and settles my stomach. I despise having to get up out of bed to go to the bathroom.
