Text books and workbooks

Like Annie G said should be given to all kids at this time. The workbooks for K- 6 always have good examples and explain things. ( K-2 though is especially hard b/c parents have to help.)
The older...

Yes, what you wrote sounds great! :)

You know, your P may just really be trying to help you stay out of the crossfires of cranky parent w/ influence.
When I was fairly new to this area, I did not know who all of the irrational/...

Know you are doing your best

and half are benefitting. Focus on that half.
I agree w/ GG too. There are times I'd find myself working a lot harder than some kids. After many yrs, I realized I needed to put the majority of my...

I am so sorry!

That is pretty stressful and parents do not realize always that you are not just focused on "their kid." ( Because that is all they are focused on at times....)
Was the P supportive of you? If yes,...

Some parents!!!!!!!

Her kid is interrupting, and she calls YOU disrespectful!
I didn't have to deal w/ TOO many idiot parents over the years b/c I spent half of my career in a place that teachers were respected by the...

I'd try to get out of the tutoring too.

Also, I'd learn a valuable lesson from all of this. I hate being stressed and overloaded.
I learned yrs ago to get my college courses needed for recertification done at least a year in advance ( if...

That is ridiculous!

Many years ago, our district required LP's that took about 6-8 hours a week to hand write. ( Before computers)
I called it "The Great American Novel." I was young and dumb, and ours were not due...

I do not like vague emails either......

As years have gone by, I have noticed admin ( as well as most of us) have become very careful what we put on email. It always makes me chuckle when someone just "lets loose" on email. ...

I'm sorry you had

such a hard day. Tomorrow will be a new better day!
I HATED it when I'd email, get no response, and then have it boomerang back to someone saying I never sent an email. I had that happen a few times...

For the last maybe 12 yrs

our state pushed all standards down a year.
Lots of kids have struggled with concepts that they are just not developmentally ready to do.
The telling part is kids who have flunked or are older,...

1x a kid who lied a lot did something really wrong.
I told Mom, who immediately called him on the phone to hear his side of the story.
I don't usually think so quickly, but told...

I have only seen him a few times,

but he is right on here! It was almost like he had been a teacher before. Parents united with teachers help kids learn and behave.

The 1 thing I disagree with though is I do not think parents are...

I love it! I have heard:

Love is a verb, but never "parent is a verb!" How true!
Yeah, when we were kids and finished math homework, we took it to our dad who checked it over.
If a problem was wrong, we had to go fix it....

Ruby Tunes and Aida

Ruby Tunes, I learned very similar ways to cope due to a similar mom. I am very thankful too for having learned a lot of lessons and values. They have helped in life through some really tough times...

Thanks, it is good to know others feel this way too. Yes, there are definitely exceptions depending upon where your child is at in life and the type of problem.
That is why I would not leave a...

I can't imagine no heat in Michigan!

That is crazy!
I get cold easily too, so I learned to wear layers.
In the winter, my 1st layer is Under Armor.
During not such cold times, I would wear a fleece vest over a sweater, over a shirt...

I am so sorry all of this is hitting you at

1x. You have worked most of your life if you are able to retire. You deserve the time you and your husband have left together.
Since it is just a small amount of $ you'd lose, the $ probably is not...

This post really brings out a lot of feelings

in me that I hope some people will think about. It could be just in my corner of the world, but I don't think so.
I taught school most of my life and raised 2 adults who are functioning pretty well...

I would not be happy, but I am kind of old

I think our kids need to learn slowly at a young age with emotional support from their parents: There are many types of people in the world.
Some are nice and some aren't. Some things...

I hate bats! I have a really steep pitch on

my roof. Bats made a home there under the porch and they come back every yr. for about 2-3 months.
A friend was able to screen over 1 of 2 places they nested. The pitch is too high w/out scaffolding...
