1. Cheap so you can afford them.
2. Agree, use packing tape on the bottom to add extra support.
3. Allow the kids to bring their own duct tape to cover their boxes. They last forever
4. I put...

I have taught a new strategy to a student many times and then I will teach that strategy to the whole class. You mentioned you have the students choose. I personally don't think that is a great...

What's The Purpose?

I really see no need for a separate DEAR time. If you have more time for kids to read why not just call it READ TO SELF? That's what it is and they should be following the Read To Self ichart along...

Starting mid year

I think now is a great time to start. You don't have all that beginning of year "stuff" to tend to. I began mid year and found the kids settling into D5 very quickly. They enjoyed the change and...

It's never too late!

Get all of your prep work done for D5 between now and January. READ THE BOOK(S). Begin when you return from Christmas Vacation. That is when I began and it worked wonderful.

More than one mini lesson a day!

I have two mini lessons a day. One is used for the "SKILL OF THE WEEK" and the second one is for CAFE or vise versa. It works very well. I cover a lot of ground in a week doing it this way.
