Using kagan structure

I use the Kagan structured called rally write coach. Student A works thru the first math problem while student B observes. If student A makes a mistake student, student B should be "coaching."...

I use a hand template to help with summarizing. Thumb finger, who?index did what? Middle finger, when? Ring finger, where? Pinky, why? And outside of hand, how? OR you can do somebody......

I also include my students' passwords to AR, computer login, etc. That way if they loose it I have their info. I also include parent volunteer forms to see who is willing to volunteer and for what.

STAAR Writing

I ahve had some training. Students will be writing 2 compositions: narrative and expository in two days. They only get 26 lines to write their stories. They must say a lot in a small amount of words....

Scheduling of science and social studies

I do 2-week units of each. When I'm emphasizing science, I do a 5-10 min activity in social studies like geography, vocab, etc. When I emphasize social studies I 5-10 min of vocab or do journal work.

Tattling

I have a tattle report that studens can fill out. If it is hat important to the student to tell me what is going on, then they will write it out. This helps dwindle the amount of tattles I am told....
