They ended up staying in a hotel

in Carlsbad, which is maybe 30 miles from Lake Forest. Hoping things settle down today. The worst part is that they have basically not gone ANYWHERE at all since late March. Both work at home. ...

He and his GF are leaving now.

This is the scene behind their house. They have not been formally evacuated yet, but decided to go anyway. They will either stay with friends or get a hotel for tonight.

to a huge fire in Irvine, CA, he is on notice that he may have to evacuate. He lives in the next city, Lake Forest. Is there no end to the hell of 2020?<!--grumpy-->

what he planned to do today. He said he was going to work on fixing (welding repair) the bucket on the Gradall excavator he just bought.

I said, "So, is that on your bucket list?" ...

I really have not noticed any negative

personality traits. I rescued him from my brother's farm, where he had been dropped off about a year before I moved out here. It took him a while to become "unferal," but he has always been very...

for my castor oil packs. I save paper grocery bags b/c I use them in the bathroom wastebasket. I save reusable bags... I have no idea why, b/c I always forget to take them to the grocery store.

Catwoman, The main piece of fabric

was about 32x40. My quilter friend gave it to me. Really, all I did was add some trim, using scraps I had lying around. The quilting was done on a machine, not by me! I have no idea how to...

It is normal to worry about any new mom.

I was 37 when I had my first, with a loving and helpful husband and lots of supportive family and friends, and it was still extremely difficult to recover from a C-section and be a new mom.

If you...

My latest quilting project.

Not sure if it is a lap quilt or wall hanging, 42"x52". This is a Christmas gift for the lady who is fostering my 21-year-old cat in CA. She bakes and does catering for a living.

Oh, my! He sounds like a winner!

How did you figure out it was not a match personality wise? Had you not discussed beliefs before agreeing to meet? What was your first clue (besides the outfit). Maybe he just didn't want you to...

You must be so excited!

I am thrilled for you. And extra happy that your DD is going home to live with you and attend college. You will have a very busy winter, but I am sure you would not have it any other way.

It seems I have been sewing my entire life.

I remember my grandmother and mom taught me to thread a needle and used to give me scraps to handsew into doll clothes.

I took the obligatory home ec class in junior high. After that, I made a...

When I left CA, I downsized a house I had lived in for 23 years to a 5x8 storage unit. Eventually emptied the storage and most of that...
