I really do not call very often.

But we email a lot. My former MIL always maintained that she did not like to talk on the phone. But sometimes, she will get into rather long conversations with me. It is very random. She might...

Update: FIL is in a medically-induced

coma until tomorrow. Doctor says his heart is strong, suffered little damage, but he may need a pacemaker. The only issue would be the impact of those six minutes on his cognitive abilities.

MIL in CA, with whom I am still close. I will be staying with her and FIL when I visit in December. My FIL answered the phone, walked into the other room to tell her I was on the line, then...

I have lived in nine states and visited

all but Alaska.

Among the most beautiful was the Oregon Coast, where I lived for two years. This is where I took my daily walk. The path started about three minutes from my front door.

UPS is famous for incompetence.

I was NEVER able to get them to deliver a package to my daughter in Berkeley. Her house has TWO apartments, one up, one down.

I literally was on the phone with the Berkeley UPS office and my...

I could fire him, but then I would have

to get in a pissing match about money he needs to give back, what he has done or not done, etc. And he's already having mental health issues. So, no, I prefer to not be his target. Sounds awful,...

We got our first real snow today.

My new car is sitting in the driveway, getting snowed on, because the bathroom contractor has my garage full of his stuff. That would be fine, except in the past 4 weeks, he has only spent about...

Please do not let hubby poke

it with a needle. He might cause further infection. I would go to urgent care immediately (and I am not a doctor type of person). There is an area of the face from nose to forehead where you...

Hell, no, you are not being overprotective.

This needs to be nipped IN THE BUD. Immediately. Regardless of what your goddaughter's mom did, I think YOU need to file a report. You are a mandated reporter. What happens if he gives some other...

I once woke up in the night with a trail

of burning, itchy bites down my leg and I was certain it was a spider.

Someone told me to mush up regular aspirin with water to make a paste and put it directly on the bites. That worked like a...

There is a difference between an

authorized user and being someone who is on the account jointly.

An authorized user is not responsible for the debt. Do not believe a credit card company that tells you that. If the father did...

Thanks for all the responses!

I thought I was on the right track, but it helps to know I'm not being unreasonable.

To answer questions, I really don't know

why he was thinking like that today. I have known him for three years and he has always given the kids equal amounts of $$ and I have always given them a separate gift. I don't think he has a...

Opinions, please...

When giving birthday and Christmas gifts to grandchildren, do you all try to keep things even?

My SO and I had a little disagreement this morning. On his grandson's birthday, he had given his...

Sister-in-law lives in very close to

the fires. She has not been evacuated, but two nearby towns have been.

California is cursed, I swear.

that have a big green marijuana plant and "420" going down the side of the right leg. I am going as a flower child, complete with tie-dyed shirt, flowers in my hair, a beautiful peace sign necklace...

you are comfortable with him, that says a lot. And also I love that you met the old-fashioned way. My sweetie and I met out dancing and the relationship progressed around a common interest in a...

Wow, that is a difficult situation to be in.

I hope he learns his lesson this time. What does he plan to do with the rest of his life? If he is not happy doing the menial type jobs, perhaps he should go back to school? It is never too late. ...

Sounds like a lawsuit to me!

And trust me, I would be calling my union, union attorney, and possibly a private attorney. THIS IS YOUR LIFE. She is purposely threatening your life and probably breaking state law and district...

This beast - I swear he posed for me.

He belongs to my sweetie's brother. Alleged to be quite dangerous, but also adorable (at least I think so).

What didn't I do? But some highlights:

1. Hitch-hiked from California to NY (back in the day) with a virtual stranger, i.e., guy I met who was also hitching to NY.

2. Often hitched alone, got into tractor trailers with driver and...
