I think Writing Workshop is the only way to go! The problem with journals is that we're not really teaching them anything about being a better writer. There are lots of resources out there to help...

I love the Kobo function on my Blackberry Playbook.

Too many GLCs?

For a 30 minute lesson, I would only focus on one objective. Make it clear to the students what they are going to learn in this lesson.
