I recently noticed there are fanny packs with alarms. Not sure your dogs would appreciate that but you might want to consider it if it continues to be an issue.

Check book

I still have a checkbook, but I only use it 3-4 times a year. I find it handy to have when I need to send a gift of money for graduations or birthdays. I do not carry my checkbook with me ever.
