I would think dividing the time slots up by last name would help. Like A-E, return your books on Monday or Tuesday, F-J on Wednesday or Thursday, and so on. (That would also mean families with kids...

Its all about fear.

You are completely right that kids need expectations, and they need to know their parents are ultimately in charge.

I certainly did my best to do that with my own...but I also know I got lucky. ...
