Okefenokee Swamp

If you want to take a drive, Okefenokee Swamp is 67 miles north of Jacksonville. We took a great boat ride there and saw gators and neat birds. There are also boardwalk nature trails. Bring plenty of...

Good luck to you!

The expectations for test scores have to be realistic on the part of the school based upon the fact that you are only their teacher for 8 weeks by testing time. Congratulations on finding a job and I...

You need time away from them...

Since you don't want to permanently end the friendships, I would just acknowledge their attempts to make things right with you and then tell them you need some time and space right now (especially...

Just wondering...

Did another magazine you subscribed to go out of business? Magazines substitute another magazine for the one that is gone. To cancel, is there a website you could contact for that magazine? Or a...

Absolutely not...

I only had a diabetic student one time. We do have a nurse always on duty in our building. He had to go to her before and after gym and recess to monitor sugar levels, as well as any time he felt he...

Worth exploring, but...

Just remember that many times, your hands will be tied by what the district policy is. Your voice though, as an administrator though, should give you more clout against policies you believe are not...

Dinner tonight...

Finishing up a leftover baked turkey leg with veggies, but next week I plan on making an Italian pot roast recipe from Taste of Home magazine that I can make in my slow cooker.

So glad the vet was able to excise the entire mass. May you get many more happy and healthy years with him by your side. Sending Molly positive thoughts as well.

Book

I am reading The Night Fire by Michael Connelly. It is a murder mystery featuring Bosch and Ballard, two characters from other books he has written, but it works as a stand alone novel, too.

I...

Enjoy...

Snow days are great unless you have to make them up. I am retired now, but my former district opted not to put any snow days into the calendar this year. So far, they have been lucky and only have to...

I agree...

I feel that way about making medical appointments. Before when I was working, everything had to be around 4:00 or later, unless I took a sick day and had to deal with writing sub plans. Now, I can...

I hope the building gets disinfected and everyone returns feeling better. I wish my district did that. They took away the February Break we had years ago, and that time off was great for getting rid...

30's here...

I take a 5:45 A.M spin class on Wednesdays and Fridays, so I was up before the sun. Came home, took a power nap, and headed to Costco to pick up my new glasses. Then, a friend and I took the dog for...

My principal was not...
