Bucket Filling

I read the book to my 5th graders and discussed, but didn't use the bucket filler slips. Then when I had to confront a student about behavior, it was a gentler and less accusing when I asked them...

Actually I copied both but have not used it since I'm only doing it as a read aloud. I googled it and two sites came up, but as I remember both linked to the one. One is a shortened reader's guide...

There is some

comfort in knowing that I'm not alone. I can't seem to do anything but sit and stare at the tube...The sun doesn't shine, it's cold, which I REALLY HATE, and spent 3 of the last 5 school days at home...

I teach 5th grade LA

and we have basals but I do not consistently use them. We have done class novels, short stories, picture books, etc. I do this because I do not want them to get bored, and they do if you don't...

for biography....A grade CD is Products in a Toolbag. On the CD are all kinds of rubrics for various projects. You can download and install and then you can edit the rubric. It is great! I think...

Grade was the book I began the year with. My 5th graders loved it. I think I heard about it on a PT thread. It is an out-of-print book and took me weeks to get it but was totally worth the wait.

I got some from LLBean but love the fit of the ones I got at Eddie Bauer. I should probably invest in Eddie Bauer stock. It is one of my favorite places to shop.

Biography

I have students choose a biography and they can make a poster, a powerpoint, a collage, etc. They would then use this to give an oral presentation of the author. I offer bonus points if they dress...

I love my Kindle. It is small, lightweight and holds many books. Amazon has a ton of book choices. It syncs to my PC as well as my IPHONE and downloading books is a breeze. The only drawback is...

I have had it since August and I am crazy about it. I don't have space for anymore books and this is so much easier to carry and books when I go places. I also have the app downloaded on my IPhone...
