I just saw that Wilson Language will have an online component for Fundations users due out late August that is free. The demo makes it look pretty good!

Shopping for books?

Any ideas on how kids can D-5 shop for books in a Covid world? I hate to NOT do D5 but how do you have young kids shop for new books when everything touched is supposed to sit for 3 days? Thanks...

I have heard it referred to when scooping a finger (or pencil mark) under phrases of a sentence so it is read with greater fluency. Not sure if this is the context you're referring to.

Fruit Soup

Throw it in the blender with fresh or frozen fruit - equal parts - and sweeten to taste with honey, agave, or sugar. It keeps well in the refrigerator and we love it. Strawberry is the best!

I always do this with my high kids. I let them pick a topic and work in small groups. They must use good old fashioned BOOKS to start with but may use the internet later for photos or pre-approved...

My suggestion is to start with a strong, prescribed phonics program such as Orton Gillingham, Fundations, etc. We've had great luck with Fundations. You'll also need to start introducing sight...
