Countdown

I have a group of really slow students as well this year. I've been counting down (out loud) whenever I want them to do something and it has really been working because they try to get things done...

Stamps

I've used my small stamp all year, almost every day and the ink still has not run out. I would imagine you could just buy small bottles of ink from Office Depot or something to refill them.

Spelling City

You can use either...my lists that I put up there are from Reading Street, but you can sign up for Spelling City for free and post whatever lists you want! It's so easy to do and the kids love using...

I used this program for the first time last year and the kids seemed to do pretty well with it.

Whiteboard

If I were to choose between a blackboard and a whiteboard, I would DEFINITELY go with the whiteboard. You can use a variety of colors...they are not hard to clean at all...and you don't get chalk...

My classroom is pretty small...not really sure of the dimensions. I had 24 students this year and usually have between 22-25 students from year to year.

cheap storage bins

They have really great storage bins for only $1.49. I use those in my classroom library...they are big enough to hold most picture books...and in the hallway for my students' cubbies.

Make your own bookshelf...

My awesome husband built my classroom library out of milk crates, wooden boards, and plastic zip ties. The milk crates are used to support the shelves and I can also put one of...
