You can use the traits in the context of any writing lesson. I recommend Culham's book, as she has lots of activities, but the Norwest Regional Eduactional Laboratory has great resources for free. ...

attention getters

I use a bicycle horn, those hand clapper things, or a whistle that is actually a horn--all purchased at the dollar store. I switch it up & it keeps them on their toes!
