Contractions with Surgery
Old 11-13-2005, 12:46 PM

I found the introductory lesson on the net. The site slips my mind right now, but if you type "contractions with surgery" in google, I think it will pop up.

Anyway, I plan to do as the original poster said and wear a surgical mask and gloves as I perform surgery on two words. I will cut them apart, then stich the new contraction back together with paperclips. Next, I will add a transparent tape "bandage" and write in the apostrophe. The apostrophe is the "scar" that the surgery leaves behind.

I think my third graders will love it.

Thanks everyone for your ideas!
