Drive or fly for Christmas?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

It's a 10 hour trip driving.
If I drive I have to go through mountains for about 3 hours of the trip no matter which route I take.
Driving would be slightly cheaper, although I need to renew my tag and get my car checked out, which might make it about the same cost.
I'm wondering about taking presents on a plane, not so much on the way, but on the way back.
If I fly I can't leave until the morning of Christmas Eve without paying a lot more for a flight.
It would be about a 3 hour flight total with one flight change.

WWYD?
