Yes, you do have to recertify. It isn't a state requirement, rather a NB requirement. The certificate is good for 10 years. They'll send you the recert info in your 9th year and then you can recertify then with an option of re-doing if you don't pass, or wait til the 10th year and pray you pass with only one shot!!

So prepare yourself if you plan to recertify but it isn't as hard as the initial process. However, it does cost $1150 so that's the other real issue during these hard financial times!!
