Clip to ScrapBook #6

Travel: An Education Takes You Places! was my theme about 8 years ago. i decided to revisit it last year (and to keep the same theme this year)--which i NEVER do...

here is a link to a destination sign i made and put up in my room:
http://www.proteacher.net/discussion...d.php?t=589567 (i had planned on making it all summer last year but didn't get around to it until the weekend before school started!)

usually i post photos of my classroom, but i couldn't find any from last year. huh....

i can't answer your question about name tags. (i hand kids a 3x10ish size piece of construction paper to write and decorate, and i laminate)

i have one bulletin board with a world map. each kid has a colored construction paper folded in half with white paper glued inside (about size of your palm)--to create a reading passport--they get a stamp (sticker) for each book they read (and either test or report on). wording on board: Travel The World With Books

another bulletin board has postcards from around the world (purchased from teacher store--not real ones). It reads "Where Would You Go?" their first writing activity the first week of school is to write me a paragraph about where they would like to travel to (real or fantasy) and why--and those get posted there.

here is an image that i would like to use for my classroom door--i have some wrapping paper that is like a map:

just had an idea for name tags...do they still make airline tickets (not just ones you print out at home?) you might be able to find an airline or travel agency to give you some blank ones, you/kids could write names in black marker on top...
