I seriously doubt it, especially if you're basically an independent contractor paid directly by the district. Even if you had some rights and tried to raise a stink over it, the district would probably just blacklist you quietly and hope you didn't have the funding or time to follow it up -- and let's be real, most of us don't.

Considering none of us even got reimbursed for canceled jobs after the school closures in March, or any semblance of communication as things went down... I just think expecting districts to suddenly be considerate towards their subs who catch a covid bullet for their fulltime teachers is ... not feasible at all. There are hundreds of ways for them to blame you or claim you got it somewhere else, and the idea that they'd let a sub sit around on workman's comp instead of just firing him/her via blacklisting and sweeping the problem under the rug is honestly laughable to me. It runs so counter to the way districts have handled everything else. I couldn't see it happening in a million years. I'm saying this as someone who wishes things were different, but I've seen them "fire" people without really firing them (eg. blacklist from all but one terrible school) over waaaay less.

Expect nothing. Absolutely nothing. If you do go in, bring your own protective gear that you trust. Don't expect anything to be provided for you. This virus has long lasting health consequences including permanent cognitive impairment. Don't ruin your health for potentially the rest of your life over a day's worth of mediocre pay.
