For me, intentional teaching comes easier when I have a long range curriculum plan written for the year that outlines what math & literacy standards I need to cover each month. I have a math and literacy curriculum map I try to follow, and then a list of science/social studies/vocabulary topics that I try to hit each month.
I also do assessments 3x/year, so I can use those for planning too, based on what groups of students need to work on.
I do find that most of my intentional teaching is done during large group and small group. When I'm just interacting with students during centers, i focus on higher level questioning and scaffolding play. I'd love to be more intentional at center time, but it doesn't always work out that way.
