I am always in favor of buying leveled books for students that address science, social studies, and math--two birds with one stone.
You might also want to look at some of the support books for teachers with why to teach different ways as well as how to teach. Heinemann is my favorite publishers for those books. You could use them to inform your interventions as well as to share with teachers who are strong enough to ask for support.
