Clip to ScrapBook #5

I'm a reading specialist. We see intervention students during their reading block time, which is leveled in 2 chunks - 30 minutes by "reading level" and 30 minutes for specific skill work (language, writing, specific standards, etc). Usually intervention students are with us for the full hour.

Beyond that, I pull students for 1:1 or 1:2 Tier 3 services based on teacher referral and data, and I schedule those times with the teachers. Each classroom in a grade is on the same schedule, and most grade levels have an awkward chunk in their day somewhere, which is where I try to pull the kids. For example, we have a grade level that comes back from specials and then has 15 minutes before lunch. The classrooms usually do independent reading or finishing up something from the morning, and that's when I pull students for 1:1 from that grade. If I have to pull during a subject, it's for no more than 15 minutes/day and it's their science/social studies/project time.
