Clip to ScrapBook #2

So I will. I have retired from full-time teaching for four years. I taught second grade for my last five years.

From what you have described, retention would not have been a consideration. The student sounds immature with a lack of focus. Many second graders need a little longer before they develop that maturity.

Shes reading on level. Many students struggle with story problems especially in the math that is presently taught.

Very rarely have I seen a student retained a year, and its usually before second grade. She is a student that probably would benefit from a tutor over the summer to keep her up with her reading and math skills.

What about testing scores? How have they been this year? You would definitely need a great deal of information in order to retain a child.

Hope I helped.
