Clip to ScrapBook #4

When I was departmentalized, I kept the textbooks for my subjects in the desks and reminded students that nothing else should be in there, except for their supplies WHILE THEY WERE IN MY room. My homeroom was allowed to use their desks for storage overnight, but the next morning before switching, only my stuff should've been in there.

I was very specific: my stuff on the left, your stuff on the right. When they leave, the right should be empty and ready for the next set of students.

My kids had desks in all classes. They were different, and our rooms were set up differently. We were ability grouped too, so while I had all of the kids, I didn't have all of my homeroom together except the beginning and end of the day. I made sure that my seating charts for each rotation included my homeroom kids sitting at THEIR desks.
