You just have to really check and compare the text to your standards. I am in GA and much of what is in EDM is not in our state standards, and vice versa (many of our standards are not covered in the text). I use as much of the text as I can but I have to supplement A LOT. I have seen teachers who literally go straight by the book and their kids are so lost when it comes to the actual standards-there are holes in their learning because the curriculum misses things that are in our state standards.

I like how the text is laid out with strategies for below, on, and above level students as well as ELL students for each lesson. The math boxes are a great review. I hope your district is purchasing math journals for the students to write in. They really are necessary to implement the curriculum correctly. Talk to some of your grade 3 teachers since they are familiar with it and with your state standards.
