Clip to ScrapBook #4

I am also a fan of EDM, though it is def not perfect. You will need to take the time to sit down and decide which lessons align with your state standards and which ones you can temporarily skip and teach after the state test. My math curriculum coach was very angry when I was hired and told her that I would be skipping around and modifying the curriculum in order to cover all that was needed to be covered before the test, however, it seemed to work this year seeing as 84% of my kids passed compared to 69% as 3rd graders!

Basically, familiarize yourself with the text, and supplement when needed (I always add in more basic fact practice and skip certain lessons while creating others of my own). As the PP said, the math boxes are a great review. I also skip the World Tour part of it. Good luck!
