Clip to ScrapBook #2

b/c "ahhhhh" is like relaxing, refreshing, Calgon-take-me-away language I did a curriculum night to 2 groups of parents, 30min each at my new school. (Old school we covered this during first day with kids...so this was a first)

So I not only didn't know their particular curriculum or each quarter's pacing yet, I didn't have a projector like my team mates to just run the PPT the other 6 tchrs use that explained everything you ever wanted to know about K! So I shared what I knew - handed out writing rubrics and Sight word essentials- but mostly talked about my philosophy to help their child and the importance of communication and partnership with them. If they can leave knowing your heart for their kids and them, they can deal with all the other stuff coming throughout the year.

PS- I did sit them at their child's table seat so they could meet parents of kids their child probably talked about- and also so I could make the connection myself to who they were
