Clip to ScrapBook #5

Last year was my first year ( I teach 3rd grade)...I had a 1st grader and baby at home too .

I don't know what your procedures are, but I know I almost burried myself in homework last year! I fixed that by having the kids grade their own HW...they circle the problems they get wrong and then I collect it to do a quick check for people who need small group or individual attention. Then put it all in a basket for my paper passers to put in the student mailboxes.

I also copied some experienced teachers and assigned my kids numbers (even in a school with high mobility this worked)...The numbers made it easy to put everything in ABC order...then file it. I can even call numbers and have the students drop the papers in their own file. It doesn't take much time at all-they figure out the order quickly and learn to anticipate their turn.
