Clip to ScrapBook #2

I would not resend the cover letter/resume packet to the district offices. Instead, go on the websites and get the addresses of the individual schools. Make a mailing label list of the principals and schools. Change the name and a few small details in your cover letter to seem as if each principal is getting a cover letter tailored to their school's needs (thank God for cut-and-paste). Include 2-3 letters of recommendation and a color photo collage of you while teaching, children you taught while student teaching (pref. active ones showing cooperative group work, etc.). Include a business card with all of your information. IT WORKS; the principals call personally to set up an interview because they don't need to use HR and waste time---I have gotten jobs every time!
